The Hotel Vertigo (formerly the York) is a 3-star property located on Sutter Street in San Francisco's Nob Hill district. It offers guests easy access to the theater district, the retaurants and shops of Union Square, the Opera House, and Market Street. Public transportation connects guests to the rest of the city via bus lines 2, 3, and 4. The hotel's name is based on and the Alfred Hitchcock Film "Vertigo," for which it served as the location The 7-story structure that houses the hotel was built in 1922 and most recently renovated in 2008. The new design was implemented by Thomas Schoos using a color scheme that depends on whiles, dark wood tones, and tangerine accents. Standard amenities include bathroom with shower, flat-screen TV and pay-per-view moveis, iPod dock, coffee maker, bathrobes, fridge, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms for mobility-challenged guests may be requested. Guest features and services at the Vertigo include discounted 24-hour reception, daily newspaper, lift, business centre, function space, discounted access to a nearby fitness club, eco-friendly policies, and valet parking (fees apply).
