About Hotel La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club
Situated right on the idyllic white sands of Eagle Beach, Hotel La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club offers sophisticated beachfront accommodation in a property with resort-like amenities.
All the rooms have the light and airy decor typical of seaside properties. Each features fully equipped kitchen, separate sleeping and seating areas and large flat screen TV.
La Cabana has a fantastic pool deck which is the center of attention during the day, with all the sun beds and poolside cafes you’d expect at a resort. Those keeping in shape while on vacation will enjoy access to a fully equipped gym.
Las Ramblas Restaurant is the hotel’s sophisticated dining venue and offers great Spanish cuisine and unforgettable Caribbean views. The Island Grill is open for all three meals and is a more casual venue.
The main attractions are undoubtedly the resort itself and the beach out front. A number of exciting watersports activities are offered in conjunction with Red Sail Sports.
There's no doubt that it was La Cabana's location, right on Eagle Beach that guests most enjoyed during their stay. Eagle Beach is one of the top rated beaches in the world, and guests were happy to find themselves just mere steps from its warm waters.
positive:
Great atmosphere on the pool deck
Many guests mentioned that the resort had an especially attractive pool deck. While they appreciated all the amenities, like the sun beds and café, they seemed to most enjoy the environment, which was said to be casual and easy going.
positive:
Professional and accommodating staff
Again and again guests mentioned just how impressed they were with the staff. They were said to be especially friendly, even based on a high Caribbean standard, and always willing to go the extra mile to help them out.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some rooms a bit musty
A couple of guests seemed to have a problem with a humid and musty environment in their room. While annoying by itself, some were also concerned that this environment may encourage the growth of mold and cause some health issues.
negative:
Not enough sun beds
Quite a number of guests reported that they had a difficult time finding an unoccupied sun bed. They mention that others “reserve” them with complicated towel placements early on, leaving no beds left for those who don't get up at 7AM to go down to the pool and “reserve” one themselves.
negative:
Street between resort and beach
While this didn't seem to bother most, a sizable minority didn't like the fact that there was a regular street, with ordinary traffic, between the resort and Eagle Beach. To them this seemed to detract from the lovely surroundings and “broke the spell” every time they walked to or from the beach.
