Good for Sequoia National Park
Many guests specifically mentioned the reasonable proximity to Sequoia National Park as a major plus. It seemed many stayed at the hotel and visited the park on day trips. While about an hours travel each way, they still found the hotel to be a decent good value base for this purpose.
positive:
Plenty of parking
Many guests used the hotel as a base and made many trips to and fro. They were happy to report that they didn't have any issues finding a parking spot when returning after a long day.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Problems with the pet-friendly policies
The La Quinta Group is well known for its exceptionally pet friendly policies. As a result, the hotel is very popular with pet owners. Other guests were not as thrilled, and some experienced issues with allergies and dogs barking at the worst possible time.
negative:
Pool over chlorinated
While it's always difficult for hotels to get this just right, several guests felt that the pool had too much chlorine in it. It tended to burn their eyes and skin a bit and made them reluctant to use the pool.
negative:
Walls are “paper thin”
Quite a number of guests reported easily hearing sounds from the adjacent rooms. Even just people talking could be heard. They felt that the hotel has not installed adequate soundproofing, and that the quality of their sleep depended on how quiet their neighbors were.
