Featuring 1,500 gorgeous acres of private land, Lake Lanier Islands Resort offers luxury pet-friendly accommodation and an incredible array of exciting outdoor activities.
Accommodation available ranges from camping spots to luxury suites and villas. The standard rooms have a rustic mountain cabin feel and feature luxury bedding, flat screen TV’s, free Wi-Fi, telephones, work desks, coffee makers, hairdryesr and private patios or balconies.
A notable amenity at Lake Lanier Resort is its spa, where guests can make use of the extensive facilities, or opt for one of the many treatments available.
There a quite a number of dining options available, from the casual poolside Bullfrogs Bar and Grille to the formal Sidney’s Restaurant, the place to go for fine dining.
There are a simply incredible number of activities on offer at the resort, form zip lining to horse riding, let alone all the activities on the water. There’s even an immaculately tended golf course.
It seems that it was the guests who had booked one of the private villas who were happiest at the resort. They mentioned that they were indeed private, in the sense of being sheltered from the other villas, and also that they were the perfect place for families to stay.
positive:
Very good on-site restaurants
While there were one or two complaints, the vast majority of guests had only good things to say about the on-site restaurants. Sidney’s Restaurant was often singled out as being especially good, and offering an interesting menu.
positive:
Great activities
In the summer months there are simply an incredible number of activities available on site, on and off the water. Guests traveling at this time mentioned that neither they, nor their children, could possibly get bored.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Problems with the pet-friendly policies
While those with pets in tow were very happy with the pet-friendly policies, not all guests were as happy. Some complained that, no matter how well behaved, dogs would bark. Depending on what time of day it happened it was either a mild annoyance or an unpleasant start to their day.
negative:
Access control problems
Actually, guests felt that the access was a bit too controlled for their liking. Some mentioned that their party arrived at different times, and in different cars, and each was charged an access fee. Considering that they had spent a good deal on expensive rooms they felt this was a bit much.
negative:
Many rooms without lake views
Going by the comments it becomes obvious that many first time visitors were expecting to have a lake view, only to be disappointed on arrival. It seems that even rooms and villas that are facing the lake often have pine groves in front of them that obscure the view.
