Markree Castle

Hotel Markree Castle in Sligo Town is the only castle hotel on the Wild Atlantic Way. There are 30 guest rooms at the Hotel Markree Castle, all of which are en suite and individually furnished and decorated. There are also 12 self-catering cottages available. The Hotel Markree Castle is part of 500 acres of the secluded Irish countryside estate. The facilities may also serve as a wedding venue, with the capacity to host up to 170 people. There is an on-site restaurant and dining room with Roccoco style plasterwork. The meals served consist of locally sourced produce from the castle garden and lamb and venison from the estate grounds. The Hotel Markree Castle is located just off the N4 and two hours from the M50, on the Wild Atlantic Way, the longest defined coastal route in the world. Activities available on the castle grounds include a Hawk Walk, trail running and horseback riding. There is also surfing in Sligo, as well as mountain biking and kayak tours.
