A simple continental breakfast is served every morning. There are a couple of decent chain restaurants in the area for the other two meals, including an Applebee’s. Downtown Champlain is approximately 23 miles drive north, while the Canadian border is just a couple more.

Guests were very impressed indeed with the way that the staff took care of the property. Though the fittings and such were said to be relatively old, guests mentioned that the staff has taken such great care of the property that the age didn’t even come into their consideration. They felt everything was in good repair, and spotlessly clean to boot.
The overwhelming majority of guests really enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel describes it as a simple continental breakfast, but guests clearly though more of it than that term would suggest. Most were quite satisfied with the variety of foods offered.
Guests felt that they had more than enough shopping and dining options nearby, where they could fulfill all their needs. This was really convenient for those going on trips to the countryside since they could buy all their provisions without having to go on a shopping expedition before the real expedition.
Guests tended to find the standard rooms a bit too small for their liking. This was especially the case when two guests were occupying the room. They felt there really wasn’t enough space for two people with luggage to feel comfortable.
A number of guests were disappointed to find that, unlike most other Microtel properties, this one does not have a fitness center. Unless their routine simply consisted of street running, they were unable to continue with their workout routine.
Guests relegated to the sofa beds were not at all impressed with the level of comfort they provided, but there were also a fair number of complaints about the pillow top mattresses the hotel uses on its regular beds as well.
