For convenience, the rooms also come equipped with ironing facilities and a wall safe. Reception staff is available on a 24-hour basis to assist guests when needed. The hotel also provides complimentary Wi-Fi and on-site parking. The Bay Cafe & Cantina is located on-site. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, the cafe serves traditional American cuisine alongside authentic Mexican favorites. Dennis the Menace Park is just over five minutes away from the hotel on foot, while Fisherman’s Wharf is a 15-minute walk. The Monterey Bay Aquarium can be reached in less than ten minutes by car.

With the Monterey State Beach across the road and many other attractions within walking distance, the Monterey Bay Lodge is thought of as ideally positioned by many. Dennis the Menace Park, Fisherman's Wharf and the Monterey Sports Center are all within 15 minutes from the hotel on foot.
Most former guests had a pleasant experience when it came to their interactions with the staff at the hotel. The customer service provided was typically defined as warm, friendly and helpful.
The heated outdoor swimming pool was a highlight for various previous visitors that stayed at the Monterey Bay Lodge. Described as well-maintained and spacious, the pool is an enjoyable recreational space for guests of all ages.
Whilst the rooms at the Monterey Bay Lodge are considered clean and well-equipped for the most part, various former visitors had a problem with the size of the accommodations. The rooms, including private bathrooms, are regarded as small in general.
A common problem for previous guests staying at the hotel was the exclusion of air conditioning in the rooms. As a result, the rooms can reportedly get very hot and uncomfortable during warmer seasons.
Despite the fact that the Monterey Bay Lodge has a dedicated restaurant on-site, the hotel does not provide a complimentary breakfast - something that has disappointed a number of past visitors. With that said, it is reported that discount breakfast vouchers are provided for the aforementioned restaurant.
