The hotel is situated on the banks of the river Navesink which provides a very calming and picturesque backdrop. Guests who opted for river-view rooms said that sitting out on their balconies whilst admiring the scenery was the highlight of their stay. Due to the picture-postcard surroundings, the hotel is a popular venue for wedding receptions. .
Guests enjoyed spending their free time at the on-site bar which was said to have a lively and pleasant atmosphere. Many were also complimentary about the lounge with its open fire and comfortable chairs making it an ideal spot to sit and relax with a few drinks after a busy day of sightseeing.
Situated just a short distance away from the center of town, many guests used the hotel as a base to explore the numerous attractions of Red Bank. Those who wanted to sample the local bars and restaurants were also pleased to fund that they only had a short walk to all the local amenities. .
Some of the guests remarked that the bathrooms looked rather dated with basic and old-fashioned fixtures and fittings. Chipped and broken tiles as well as mouldy grouting were just some of the objections voiced by unsatisfied guests. .
From noisy pipes through to slow draining basins, overflowing WC's and problems with water temperature, guests reported various plumbing issues which prevented them from fully enjoying their stay. .
Those whose rooms were located close to the function suites objected to the level of noise from the loud parties which often lasted until the early hours. Many were also disturbed by late night revellers who made excessive noise in the corridors whilst returning to their rooms. .
