An ancient building with a veritable maze of passageways and stairs, each of its rooms steeped in character and charm, enhanced by tiled floors, wooden beams and pale walls - a pleasing backdrop to antique chests and canopy beds. Modern marble-clad bathrooms are scrupulously clean, and the smartest suites have a hot-tub too.
