Parador Guanica 1929 is located in a popular area near La Parguera, where you can find lots of places to try local foods and hear local music. A grocery store is conveniently located as well. In addition, the hotel is also only a short drive away from several beaches and 30 minutes from downtown Ponce. The Mercedita Airport is also only 30 miles from the hotel.
Most guests enjoyed their stay at Parador Guanica 1929 and loved the hotel’s beautiful grounds and landscaping, as well as the gorgeous views of the lake from the second floor rooms. Guests found the 24-hour laundry room very convenient, and appreciated the various in-room amenities such as the air conditioner, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.
The breakfast is a great way to start your day but guests said they enjoyed the food throughout the entire day at the onsite restaurant. The dishes are described as delicious and the portions fair.
Several guests had found their room a bit stuffy and musty, and were disappointed to find that the windows in the rooms don’t open. Even though there is air conditioning in the rooms, guests say it uses recycled instead of fresh air, which doesn’t help a lot to refresh the space.
If you’re a late eater, make sure to plan ahead. Guests say it can be hard to find late-night dining options in the local area, and there are no vending machines available onsite for snacks. In addition, the onsite restaurant isn’t open every day so make sure to check the schedule before making plans.
While the rooms are clean, many guests found them outdated and due for mild modern upgrades.
