Hotel Parador MaunaCaribe (Maunabo, Puerto Rico)

Parador MaunaCaribe is a great spot if you're looking for a holiday in a remote destination where you can experience peace, quiet and quality alone time with your family and friends. You can lounge around the infinity pool which offers spectacular views of the ocean, or relax on the beach which is located right on your door step. Hammocks are also strung up between the trees. Walking along the beach you can reach Punta Tuna Beach and the historical Maunabo Lighthouse within 35-minutes.

The rooms are clean, well maintained and presented. The mini-fridges provided are convenient for keeping drinks cool. The beds have been described as comfortable and the ocean is so close that you're able to hear the waves as you fall asleep.

The staff have been described as courteous, friendly and welcoming, helpful and accommodating. While the reception desk is only open during select hours, you will be provided with a phone number to call in case you require any assistance.

The air conditioning is on a controlled setting where it only operates when you are in the room. Some guest found this inconvenient, particularly on hot days, when they would enter a hot rather than cooled room.

Some guests found the dishes at the restaurant to be limited in terms of the variety offered. The cuisine also seems to be largely meat based and therefore not suitable for vegetarians.

Some guests felt that the accommodations would benefit from refurbishment. Some of the furniture, both indoors and outside, were corroded. The doors do not seem to be sealed well which allows cockroaches and other bugs to easily enter the rooms.
