Guests were pleased to find plenty of things to do at the hotel such as swimming in the indoor pool or having a work-out at the fitness center. Many enjoyed spending time at the lounge bar on the tenth floor which has nightly live entertainment as well as offering scenic views of the city. .
The hotel is a short stroll away from Front Street with its numerous bars, shops and restaurants. There are also plenty of attractions within walking distance as well as cinemas and music venues meaning that guests did not have the need for their cars for the duration of their stay.
The rooms have been described as clean with guests complimenting the crisp white sheets and dust-free surfaces. Although the building is old, many were pleased to find all the necessary mod-cons in their rooms including quality coffee makers, fridges and microwaves which allowed guests to prepare and store their own food. .
Guests who stayed in the tower rooms said that their rooms looked like they have not been renovated for quite some time as they had tatty-looking drapes and old-fashioned furniture. Bathrooms were said to be equally old-fashioned, with mouldy grouting and very basic fixtures and fittings. .
The bathrooms have been described as being quite small and cramped with guests stating that they had very little space to move around and that they had no counter space on which to place their toiletries. .
Various plumbing issues have been reported by the guests from slow draining sinks through to weak water pressure. Many also objected to not being able to control the shower temperature as the water would run hot and cold intermittently. .
