Situated right in Krakow’s Old Town, the Polski Hotel lives up to its long held reputation of offering traditional Polish hospitality to weary travellers.
The rooms are modern but, in keeping with the hotel’s historic roots, give off a classical air. Each room features a TV, radio, telephone, work desk, hair dryer minibar, alarm clock and air conditioning.
The top floor of the hotel is dedicated to meeting and conference spaces for as many as 150 people.
Breakfast is served every morning at the hotel. There is no bar or café at the hotel, but there are plenty of these in the streets of the Old Town just outside.
The Polski Hotel is convenient for all the attractions in the Old Town. Wawel Royal Castle is about a mile from the hotel, while Krakow’s railway station is just 700 yards.
Specifically, guests mentioned that it was a great location
for exploring Krakow's Old Town. They loved actually being in
the Old Town,
with its atmosphere all around them, and also simply found it convenient to be
so close to the attractions they had come to see.
positive:
Very good value
Several guests, travelling at various times, commented on the fact that they thought they received excellent value. Some almost couldn't believe they had secured a very decent room in the historic core at the room-rate they received.
positive:
Charming historical building
Several guests mention that they loved staying in a building that really fitted in with the surroundings of the Old Town. It made them feel like they were very much part of the neighbourhood.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No bar or cafe on-site
Perhaps the most criticised aspect of the hotel was that it had no bar, café or lounge. So, at any time after breakfast guests would have to leave the hotel for any substantial food and drink.
negative:
Noisy construction works
There were several reports as of February 2016 that substantial construction works were ongoing at the hotel. It is uncertain exactly what these entail or how long they will last. Guests are advised to check with the hotel before travelling if it might be an issue.
negative:
No tea/coffee making facilities
Though this is something of a cultural issue, since some countries simply don't have the tradition of including these facilities in their hotel rooms, this was cold comfort to guests who had just arrived back in their room after a long day and found they couldn't make themselves a quick cuppa.
