The gorgeous scenery that surrounds this luxurious hotel has made quite the impression on guests. Whether it’s looking out to Hanalei Bay or seeing the mountains of the Napali coast, there are many stunning vantage points, including right from the oceanview rooms and the bathrooms with windows showcasing the remarkable views.
The aloha spirit shows among the gracious and friendly staff. Guests have praised the superb service they received from the concierge to pool attendants and other top-notch employees, commenting that it seemed that everybody was really happy to be there.
Travelers who wanted pampering splurged on room upgrades just so that they could enjoy the hotel’s butler service. Guests felt these professionals enhanced their stay from the moment the butlers professionally unpacked their belongings, among other attentive gestures.
The remote location of the hotel can be a bit expensive for guests who don’t have a rental car. Cab fares to and from the airport, and local shopping and dining add up fast. Guests have said that they felt that the property was a bit isolated.
Guests who are sensitive to heat found that the hot tubs in the pool area were a bit too warm for their liking. If can’t deal with the heat, head to the swimming pool instead.
Travelers who are not familiar with the geography and weather of Kauai should know that the hotel is set on the north side, which gets more rain that the sunny south side. Depending on what time of year you visit, you may encounter more than a fair share of unwanted showers, which could put a damper on the experience, like it did for many guests, who found themselves waiting for the rain to stop a lot.
