Guests reported that the breakfast was more than they expected for this type of hotel with a wide variety of both hot and cold items. Guests also reported that the coffee is very good and the breakfast room is clean and comfortable.

Quality Inn Southfield is situated in an easy-to-find location just off a main highway that is close to many restaurants, shops, attractions and other services in the area.

The building itself has recently been remodeled and the outside grounds are always clean and well-maintained. Guests reported that there are plenty of places around the outside of the hotel to sit and relax and enjoy the pretty scenery around the area.

Guests reported that some doors leading outside are propped open with rocks at all hours of the day and night and anyone can just enter the building at any time. Also reported was security guards who tend to sit in one place rather than making rounds, missing security latches on room doors and a lack of safety deposit boxes in the rooms.

Guests reported that the rooms have a musty smell and are generally unkempt with dirty carpet, mold in the bathrooms and stained bedding. Also reported was broken appliances, a room temperature that is hard to control and poor-quality windows that let cold air and loud noise in.

Although this is supposed to be a smoke-free property, guests reported that people smoke right next to the entrances and the smoke comes into the building and lingers. Also reported was a smell of stale cigarette smoke in the guest rooms.
