The hotel is in a quiet and peaceful area away for the hustle and bustle of Baton Rouge, but it is till close enough to benefit from everything that Baton Rouge has to offer. Louisana State University is just a few miles away and there are many different bars, restaurants and shopping facilities within the immediate vicinity.
Staff throughout the hotel from kitchen staff, to reception staff and housekeeping staff will go out of their way to ensure that your stay is a pleasurable one. They will greet you with a smile and are always polite and helpful and will even offer to take your bags to your room.
The hotel is pet friendly and the rooms are of a decent size which is particularly convenient if you do decide to bring along your four legged friends as they don't feel too cramped. Smaller dogs will have plenty of room in which to have a run around.
There have been reports from some previous guests that some rooms are quite dirty and smelly. There is mold on the walls and ceilings in the bathrooms and others have mentioned that there are problems with the air conditioning units which can leak.
Although many reviews have mentioned the quiet neighbourhood others have also reported that fellow guests can be quite noisy with reports of children running around in corridors and being overly boisterous.
According to reports from some previous guests the hotel is next to a strip club which did not meet the approval of some guests who were unaware of this beforehand.
