The location of Queen Kapiolani Honolulu is hard to beat with excellent views of beautiful Wakiki and close to plenty of attractions as well. Guests can request to stay in ocean-view rooms. Very close to the protected swimming area.

The staff here is exceptionally warm, accommodating, and super-friendly. Very efficient and professional too right from the time guests step into the hotel to the time they checkout.

Queen rooms have received major upgrades, are more spacious and feature a more attractive décor. The lobby has received some nice upgrades too and looks better while the elevators have all been fixed and now work perfectly.

Standard rooms at Queen Kapiolani Honolulu are smallish with small bathrooms that lend them a rather cramped claustrophobic feel. The main saving feature for the smallish rooms is the furnished patio where guests can relax. King-size rooms are, however, very large and spacious.

Several guests have reported that the equipment is dated and does not match. Some of the equipment is old and broken down. AC units are noisy and not very efficient while the carpets, windows, and bathrooms could do with some upgrades.

Guests have complained of too much noise filtering into their rooms due to thin walls and inadequate soundproofing. The alleyway is frequently very noisy while the hostel next door is a constant source of irritation.
