Many of Stanton Island's sites and attractions are a short drive away. The Staten Island Zoo and the Greenbelt Nature Center are located by the harbor and are a 10-minute drive away, and sites such as the Staten Island Museum, Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden can be reached within 20-minutes' drive. To venture over to New York city, a local bus stop is a short walk away which will take you to the Stanton Island Ferry service. A few local restaurants are also within walking distance of the hotel.

Guests reported that the rooms are clean, well presented and include all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable, including free Wi-Fi, refrigerator for keeping drinks cold, tea and coffee making facilities and comfortable beds. A complimentary continental breakfast with a selection of warm and cold dishes is also included.

The staff are reportedly friendly and welcoming. You can always find a staff member at the front desk to provide assistance as well as information about the local area.

Some guests reported that even though they had booked a non-smoking room, their room smelled of stale cigarette smoke which permeated their luggage and clothes. Other guests reported cleanliness issues, including finding hair and mold in the bathroom, stained towels and unclean bed sheets.

There is no lift service at this hotel. Guests with mobility issues are advised to request a room on the lower floor.

On some occasions, guests reported that stale cereals and pastries have been served. At times staff failed to replenish dishes once they ran out.
