Sure, the hotel is nothing fancy but it's comfortable, clean, and you get your money's worth. The staff provides efficient service and are attentive as well. Hey, you can't beat it! Besides, they have started updating the facility, so within a short time it could become a dream hotel.
The hotel offers Canadian at par, which means you get good value for your Canadian dollars. Another great thing, you can pay cash at checkout, which is very rare today.
The beach is nearby, the harbor is just fifteen-minutes away by car if you like to fish, a grocery store is in the adjacent building, dining, and shopping is within walking distance. You will be greatly satisfied with the location.
The elevator makes music but not the type you want to hear! It makes weird sounds clunking and clacking, which makes you feel that it's going to fall at any moment. It's just awkward.
You may find yourself in a not too clean eating area at breakfast time and to top it off, the breakfast is sub par. The menu is limited and it's just not too good overall and it's self-service. The menu is a bit deceitful as well. It says "eggs prepared your way," it should read "eggs prepared one way," as they only offer scrambled eggs. Thankfully, there's an eatery close by where you can have a full breakfast with all the trimmings.
To give credit to the hotel, they are trying to renovate. However, until the refurbishment is completed, they need to get rid of that musty smell, redo the paint, and give it a touch-up in general!
