The opulence of this former palace thrills visitors in search of the real Vienna. Everyone loves this city and at its heart lies the family owned and run Hotel Regina.
The hotel’s character extends to the 165 rooms which are embellished with period Italian furnishings. They feature, however, modern touches like satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, a telephone, and a minibar.
Facilities include eight rooms for meetings and social events. There is a souvenir shop which highlights the hotel’s glittering past; also a 24-hour business centre. All on-site areas are non-smoking.
Meals are taken in Restaurant Roth which also features a welcoming bar. When exploring the city, guests are invited to sample the Tuscan delights of Ristorante Firenze Enoteca and rooftop dining at Ristorante Settimo Cielo. Both are approximately one kilometre away.
The Burgtheater, Austria’s national theatre, is one of the attractions visited as part of the Vienna Ring Tram sightseeing tours. The adventure begins approximately two kilometres from Hotel Regina.
Regina boasts an ideal location in Vienna, ideal for exploring the city and the historic sites. In addition, guests say the hotel has good public transportation connections but you can also walk almost anywhere, including the museum district and Old Town.
positive:
Pleasant Stay
For stunning views of the city, guests recommend asking for a top floor room - it's worth it. However, the other rooms are just as nice in quality. Guests say that they have excellent soundproofing, a personal safe and food air conditioning. In addition, the staff at Regina is extremely friendly and welcoming.
positive:
Breakfast in Vienna
Regina offers a complimentary daily breakfast and guests say that you shouldn't miss out. The morning meal offers both hot and cold dishes, after which you'll find yourself satisfied and energised for an exciting day out and about. Keep in mind that it can sometimes get busy due to its popularity.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Ageing Gracefully
While the rooms in Regina vary, with some of them being newer than others, guests repeatedly ran into ones that are definitely due for a renovation. From dusty furniture to ageing rugs and faded wallpapers, these rooms appear past its prime.
negative:
Wi-Fi
Though most guests didn't have any complaints, a couple did say that the Wi-Fi can be temperamental, and connectivity isn't always the best.
negative:
Small Spaces
A few guests thought their rooms were smaller than they would have preferred, but every room in Regina is different, in both size and layout. Despite the limited square footage, guests said they felt comfortable during their stay.
