Whatever small problems guests may have had with their rooms, or the hotel itself, most went on to add that they felt they received an excellent room-rate. All things considered nearly all believed they received very good value for money.
Again and again guests mentioned the owner, “Amigo Jose”, by name saying that he was incredibly welcoming and gracious. Several commented that staying at Residencia Onix was like staying with (well-liked) family. The rest of the staff also came in for high praise.
Several guests reported that they found that, while the property wasn't in the city centre, there were regular buses heading in that direction that stopped right outside the front door, with a relatively short trip time. They found it very convenient.
This complaint did crop up quite a few times. It seems that many of the bathrooms are a bit cramped, with guests saying they were uncomfortable to use. The shower cubicles came in for special criticism, with guests saying even small people would have trouble using them properly.
A number of guests felt uncomfortable having to leave their room key at the desk every time they left the building, especially if only returning late at night, since it meant that they would have to disturb the owners when they returned I order to get their key back.
A number of guests had trouble getting a signal in their room, requiring them to roam themselves to find a suitable spot. Also, even when a connection was established it was said to be quite slow.
