Overall, the room is fairly clean and welcoming. Unexpected extras include a room safe, iron and hairdryer. The air con works like a dream, although it leaks and the damp carpet beneath it is … a nightmare. It’s not expensive and this has to be borne in mind at all times. Some guests seem to be here long-term and not all of them fill you with confidence.
Pleasant staff and a good breakfast.
Check in personnel is friendly and welcoming and the process is quick and stress-free. The breakfast selection isn’t huge. In fact, you might leave still feeling hungry. But it’s free and serves its purpose.
Useful facilities nearby.
Church’s Chicken, Whataburger and Walgreen’s are handily located just across the street.
Let us 'spray' for a better room.
If ‘cleanliness is next to godliness’, someone is going to have some answering to do in the next life! Towels are dirty, bugs and cockroaches abound and there’s that ever strong smell of smoke – in this non-smoking hotel. The bathroom, in particular, is long overdue for a thorough clean.
No damage limitation.
It’s as if they’ve gone out of their way to supply broken stuff in the room. There’s a leg off the desk, ‘the mirror’s cracked’ and the wall damage makes it look as if previous guests have tried to escape.
Old and run down.
It’s a reflection of the location. A bit on the seedy side; old and out of date – as instanced by the antique status of the TV. There are some vending machines outside and in the lobby area. It’s not a place that you’d rush back to though.
