Ruby Marie offers trendy accommodations in the Schottenfield district of Vienna. The modern hotel features a 24-hour café-bar and a designated meditation/yoga space.
Fitted with wooden floors, blackout drapes and soundproofing, each guestroom features luxury beds with hypoallergenic bedding. Guests can take advantage of the in-room mobile device and Marshall Amp-style sound system. Bathrooms feature a glass shower with rainfall shower head.
Guests can curl up with a good book in the library, catch an old film in the movie lounge, or simply relax in the rooftop garden. The hotel offers guitar and bike rental, as well as discounted entry at a local gym.
The hotel serves a breakfast buffet each morning with a focus on organic items. Fresh coffee and hot drinks are available around the clock.
Ruby Marie is within a ten-minute walk of Wien Westbahnhof train station and the Haus des Meeres-Aqua Terra Zoo. The Museumquartier is a mile away.
Rooms are great; modern and clean. The shower has good pressure and heat. Beds are comfortable and you’ll raise an eyebrow at the impressive quality of the free toiletries. Wi-Fi is free and good. There is plenty of storage space and the self-check in arrangement is efficient and swift.
positive:
Goodnight Vienna
Rooftop cocktails and nightcaps are good and there is discounted, but still very expensive, overnight parking opposite the hotel. There’s a good shopping centre next door and the nearby underground provides easy access to more shops, restaurants and nightlife.
positive:
Lovely staff
As with many hotels, it’s the staff members who save the day and linger in the memory. Here, they are really friendly and cheerful. They really seem to love working here.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Catering concerns
Tea and coffee facilities in the room would have been appreciated. There are coffee shops in the immediate area, but they aren’t the answer if you fancy a drink at 3 AM! On the catering front, generally, breakfast and bar snacks are indifferent and not overly appetising. They aren’t cheap either. The breakfast area is also very cramped and not comfortable.
negative:
Impersonal
The downside to the quick self-check in is the lack of any welcome. There's no dialogue with the staff members who, when you see them, are terrific. Also, at this stage, there can be queries over the issuing of invoices and other matters; but assistance is limited.
negative:
A few ‘wrinkles’... need ironing out
It’s noticeable that there is no telephone in the room. In case of emergency, there is no contact with the reception desk or the outside world. There is no iron in the room. There is a facility in the corridor and in public view; but this arrangement is far from ideal.
