While some guests commented that the Ruidoso Mountain Inn was a little farther out of town, many were pleased with the hotel's location close to Ski Apache and the foot of Camelot Mountain. The hotel is also in a quiet part of town, a plus for many guests.
A great first impression was made by the Western-themed lobby.
The included hot breakfast was a nice bonus for many guests. A serve-yourself breakfast included items like waffles, eggs, pastries and juice, which were always fresh and plentiful.
Various complaints of amenities not working properly exist amongst guests of the Ruidoso Mountain Inn. A broken ice machine, out of order pool, and a rather chilly shower experience with no hot water, put a damper on many stays. While things liked clogged sinks were attended to promptly, other items remained broken throughout the duration of guests' stay.
A bare bones stay wasn't what many guests had in mind when booking the hotel, but that was the experience they got. Thin towels, foil pack shampoo, and older mattresses left a bit to be desired.
Some rooms seemed to come with a strange odor that many guests found offensive. Plumbing issues were thought to contribute to a smell that couldn't be overlooked, requiring immediate attention or even a room change.
