Hotel San Marco

The San Marco Hotel preserves the medieval remains of the ancient Hospital of St. Mary of Charity. Such an old place for the reception of medieval pilgrims dates back to the twelfth century and has recently been wisely and carefully restored. The hall and inner rooms still preserve the architecture of the ancient hospital and help create a unique atmosphere where past and present coexist in harmony. The twelfth-century building has been restored to its former glory as you can see in the common rooms in the ground floor, with vaulted ceilings, arches and stones. The furnishings are made by skilful local artisans and artists. Depending on the type of your room, you will find iron hand-wrought beds and lamps, as well as pieces of furniture in walnut wood and terracotta floors. Some rooms are even more typical, due to the ceilings with wooden beams and the walls with medieval stones and paintings from our private collection. All the details recall Gubbio traditions. Plenty of room to relax can be found both inside – in our elegant, spacious lobby - and outside - in our private garden, that will make your stay even more enjoyable.
