The Thompson Lower East Side (or Thompson LES) is a New York design hotel which offers a blend of luxury and industrial design. It was created in a collaboration between a leading architect and a leading designer and styles itself as offering 'haute minimalism'. Interesting features include a small outdoor pool and a lounge decorated with Andy Warhol filmstrips. There's a members only lounge with views of the Manhattan skyline and an in-house Chinese restaurant complete with celebrity chef. Rooms are ultra-modern and feature high threadcount cotton sheets, floor to ceiling windows, lightbox headboards and mirrored wardrobes and slate showers.
