Being located on an island between the Gulf of Mexico and Boca Ciega Bay ensures you're pretty much surrounded by ocean vistas and stunning beaches (indeed there is one just across the street). It's well worth renting a boat slip too as being able to take to the water whenever you like never stops being a treat.
You would think that having bustling Gulf Boulevard just across the parking lot would mean you'd get disturbed by noise all through the night. Not a bit of it. All you get here is plenty of perfect peace (as long as you don't have noisy neighbors).
If you're looking to keep your vacation budget down to a minimum then this is is undoubtedly a handy place to stay. As well as offering very competitive rates for a waterfront property, the inclusion of in-room stovetops, microwaves and minifridges allows you to save money on eating out. Ker-ching!
It has to be said that the staff here aren't the most proactive at keeping the hotel and its accommodations neat and tidy. Guest rooms can go days without being serviced and the pool area often looks unkempt with discarded items left lying around.
If you have a question or query then make sure you take it to the front desk before late afternoon: the staff here disappear after 5pm.
It's always a little disappointing to stay in hotel where there's no breakfast option laid on. That being said, there is a 'Waffle House' less than a block away so you can always fill your belly there if/when you don't feel like rustling something up yourself.
