The Kings Head, a former coaching inn, is set in the core of Warrington amidst the busy town centre. It is right opposite the Central Railway Station and so covering the distances to Manchester, Chester and Liverpool is fast and easy on the train routes. The rooms at The King’s Head are simple yet elegant after a recent refurbishment. The bathrooms are en suite and have a bath and shower. Every room has an LCD TV and a tea and coffee maker. The Inn has a spacious area for parking which is free both on-site and within a few yards from it. Wi-Fi is also free. A full-fledged breakfast is served at this former inn. The pub here is a lively one with a well provided and vast bar area. There is a huge beer garden, walled and spacious, where live music events are hosted on many weekends. Car parking is free and space available is ample both on site and nearby.
The live music events make the pub noisy, so guests who want to retire early face a problem as the show runs till the early hours of the morning. Added to this is noise from the street which is the disadvantage of being in a central location.
The area feels unsafe as well, as it is frequented by drunks and the homeless.
Rooms provide basic facilities and food is a major issue as it is not available here. Continental breakfast is available in place of the advertised full English breakfast. Residents are allowed to drink at the pub only after the locals vacate it.
