The Lodges offers Queenstown visitors 4-star suite and apartment lodgings just across the road from Lake Wakatipu and a five-minute walk away from downtown Queenstown. All units have their own private balconies, as well as en-suite and private bathrooms, charged Wi-Fi access and flat-screen TVs with DVD players and SKY TV satellite channels. These studio to three-bedroom apartments come with basic cooking facilities or a full kitchen, electric blankets and heaters and some even have spa baths. Free parking is offered on site, in addition to ski storage, booking services and laundry facilities. Guests can reach a supermarket and a wide range of dining — including the famous Fergburger — as well as many bars, cafes and clubs on foot in ten minutes. The Lodges is a few hundred metres away from the TSS Earnslaw steamer wharf and 15 minutes from the Skyline Queenstown gondola.
The location of these apartments, just across from the beautiful Lake Wakatipu and a few minutes walk away from the Steamer Wharf bar, restaurant and steamship dock complex, was thought to be excellent and guests reported that the resorts other downtown attractions were also easily reached on foot.
People wrote that they very much enjoyed looking out over the lake to the towering Remarkables range from their very own balcony. On top of this, the apartments were found to be warm, comfortable, handily equipped with en-suite bathrooms and kitchen facilities and well designed to offer plenty of space.
It seems that the staff here were pleasant and happy to assist with any guest requests, and on top of this, a good number of people considered the prices to be good for what they got in central Queenstown.
Some of those who stayed noted that the furnishings and carpet in their apartments were a little bit timeworn, with the odd minor maintenance issue reported due to seemingly extended use, but people did not seem to have much issue with this. The only other negative point reported was that you have to pay for Wi-Fi access here — something that was not at all appreciated in this day and age.
