Elegant, yet subtle studios, lofts and the spacious penthouse space all feature cool interiors, contemporary design and floor-to-ceiling windows. All feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and rainshowers, while some have private terraces, seating areas and soaking tubs. The apartment-style penthouse has separate living and dining areas, and a full kitchen. The Ludlow features a fitness centre and a garden patio. On site, Dirty French is a trendy restaurant that puts an updated spin on the classic bistro, while the Lobby Lounge Garden is lovely for drinks. Soho and the East Village are walking distance from the hotel, while Union Square, Midtown and the Upper East Side are easily accessible via subway or cab.

Out-of-towners loved the location of this hotel. Right in the heart of the Lower East Side, the property is surrounded by great restaurants, bars and boutique stores. People who have stayed here said they found the neighbourhood to have lots of character, and that it's also easy to get to other areas around the city including Soho, Chinatown and the East Village.
Guests have noticed the professionalism of the staff at this boutique property. Staffers have been described as friendly, polite, welcoming and attentive. Others agreed that the employees were easy to work with, from the front desk to housekeeping and the doormen.
The hip setting and interiors were certainly appreciated by many guests who said the hotel has a very chill vibe. Other areas added to the overall ambiance including the rooftop terrace with its spectacular views, the lobby and the stylish rooms which have a vintage classic feel.
People who aren't from New York found the guest rooms to be too tiny for their liking. Guests have even said that small is not even the right word, given that it was hard for two people to move around in the room.
The hotel is located on the Lower East Side, which is always busy with pedestrians and cabs passing through. However, guests did notice the noise from the outside, but they also commented that the halls are very noisy especially with late night revellers.
If you want a massive gym, you're not going to find it at this hotel. Guests have said that the small workout room leaves much to be desired.
