The Standard - Spa Miami Beach is a good choice for guests who want a quick weekend escape. The hotel grounds are perfect for lounging. There is a music playing under the pool, making swimming a more special and unique experience. Moreover, there is a large hot tub with a Roman waterfall feature, which you can take advantage of.
Guests can't get enough of the fully outfitted ashram that is available free of charge. You can go in at any time and use the facilities that include steam, hot marble slabs and rain shower, or enjoy the specialty spa treatments. In addition, you must also try the awesome outdoor spa treatments.
The pool boy, housekeepers, reception staff and waiters at the restaurants are friendly and helpful. Staff members inside the establishment make their rounds regularly, pouring much-needed ice water, which is highly commendable. Moreover, they can be easily approached.
The pool bar is tiny and rather run down looking. Some guests commented that the outdoor bar area has the feel of a retirement community, while many complained the slow service. Beers are served warm, primarily because of the refrigerator being opened every now and then. However, there are many dining options where you can have refreshments inside and outside the establishment.
Decor in the rooms is quite old. Among the negative reviews are the paper-thin plywood walls, an ugly worn tapestry above the bed, and the room's limited space where there's absolutely nowhere to put anything. On booking, be sure to pick a room where you'll be most comfortable.
There were reports of cockroaches in the room especially during midnight. However, this is only a minor issue and happens rarely.
