Perched high in the hills and offering commanding views of Tasman Bay, The Wheelhouse Inn is a collection of one and two-bedroom holiday apartments with a jaunty nautical theme. The five apartments are all part of a larger house and share the amazing sea views. They are well furnished and have full kitchens with washers/dryers, sofabeds, TV, free Wi-Fi , and much-used wooden decks. Those looking to explore the area on two wheels have the free use of bikes, and motorists can rest easy in the knowledge that free on-site parking is available. The best dining options for those who are not self catering are in the town centre, less that three kilometres away. Paasha Nelson, a casual Turkish restaurant, comes especially highly recommended. Good family fun can be had at both Natureland Wildlife Trust, a compact and much-loved zoo, and the adjacent Tahunanui Beach, which are approximately three kilometres south of The Wheelhouse Inn.
