Guests couldn't help but say positive things about the view. They were blown away by how picturesque the grounds were, and said that they were given a million dollar view for an affordable price. Many agreed that they could see why Ouray was called the Switzerland of America, and guests enjoyed experiencing it from this well cared for hotel.
Staff were the icing on the cake for many guests. Gracious and upbeat hotel workers were a pleasure to interact with, and many could vouch that staff would bend over backward to help in any way possible.
You might find yourself thinking of ways to extend your stay after experiencing the delicious breakfast. Guests found themselves eating more than they had planned, and were very impressed with the great selection that was tasty and satisfying.
A few guests weren't too happy about having to take the stairs. Guests reported that room location couldn't be guaranteed, leaving those with mobility issues and lots of luggage to struggle, often after a long day of traveling. If a room on the ground floor is necessary, you might want to keep this in mind.
Some guests said that they anticipated bigger rooms, and that pictures were sort of deceiving. A lack of storage and shelf space was mentioned by a few, and while most guests didn't spend much time in their rooms, a bit more space would have been appreciated.
Having to pay extra for things like bottled water, omelettes at breakfast and the use of bathrobes was a disappointment for some. Penny pinching guests wished that these things would be included in the room rate.
