Universel is a three-star hotel located across from Laval University in Quebec City, Quebec. It offers plainly-decorated, contemporary rooms and a host of in-house entertainment facilities.
All of the rooms at Universel offer elegant bedding, a flat-screen television, work desk, sitting area, bathroom with tub, and free Wi-Fi connectivity.
Universel features a Scandinavian-inspired spa area, a fitness center, a massage area, an indoor pool, billiards room, and common lounge area with decorative garden elements.
An in-house pizza restaurant services dinner options, while the hotel's in-house services include a breakfast sampling for all guests. Vending machines and a bar are also located within Universel.
Downtown and Old Quebec are within walking distance of this hotel, as well as the Ste-Foy Train Station, Jean-Lesage International Airport, and Les Galeries de la Capitale shopping center.
The numerous spas and bathing areas within Universel are a fantastic way to relax and enjoy yourself in Quebec, and will all leave you with the distinct feeling of luxury thanks to their high-class design and private arrangements.
This is an ideal stop if you're looking to explore much of Quebec City and the downtown areas, since you won't need a car or even a taxi to reach many of the nearby destinations and take in the culture. The parking is also easily accessible, if you wish to drive around the area throughout the day.
Courteous staff members.
The front desk staff and cleaning staff are incredibly helpful and willing to help accommodate you in any situation, including gathering information about the local area or any attractions you'd like to visit.
Universel has a wonderful pool, but one of its downsides is the amount of traffic it receives from your fellow guests. You'll need to secure a spot and make the most of limited area, considering how busy it can become.
Considering how elegant and lovely most of the hotel is, you may be a tad disappointed by the breakfast offerings, which are handled by the chain Boston Pizza and are not billed as being homemade or Quebec-inspired dishes.
Missing some essentials.
You may expect a microwave and fridge in your hotel room, especially at a more upscale hotel, but Universel does not include either of these appliances. This can be troublesome if you like to store leftovers or milk for your morning coffee.
