Vila Galé Porto guests are within 25 minutes’ walk of the Douro River, Ribeira, Porto Cathedral and Clérigos Tower. This accommodation is also known as Porto Vila, Porto Vila Galé, Vila Gale Hotel Porto, and Vila Galé Hotel Porto.
Guests said this hotel was handily close to a Metro station, lending easy access to Porto attractions like the Ribeira and Rua de Santa Catarina, as well as Porto Campanhã station. The city centre is also reportedly reachable on foot if you have time and fresh legs, while good parking options are available for a small fee.
positive:
Clean rooms, comfy beds, nice pool complex.
Vila Galé Porto is said to offer clean bedrooms, very comfortable beds and good value for money. On top of this, guests reported having access to a nice pool, sauna and spa area, although the temperatures of these were sometimes said to be not quite hot enough.
positive:
Breakfast buffet selection decent.
Those who stayed here said there was a good selection of food on offer at the buffet breakfast, although reviews show that the evening meals were not quite so popular.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Needs modernising, thicker walls, better Wi-Fi.
According to some who stayed here, the rooms could use soundproofing to avoid overhearing neighbours, while modernisation work would was also advised since it looks dated enough to have a few people questioning the 4-star rating. On top of this, the Wi-Fi was not thought to be not great on higher floors, but otherwise okay.
negative:
Service not always the best.
Although some people found the staff to be very helpful and polite, others said that the service they experienced was not the most professional, and would have expected more friendly people on reception.
negative:
Area not looking very nice.
A handful of Vila Galé Porto guests mentioned that the area itself is nothing special — and was filled with old, run-down buildings — but was nevertheless close to downtown Porto.
