For more space, cottages with upscale amenities are available. The on-site Nickajack Lodge has a great space for unwinding, with a 60" TV, wood burning fireplace and wraparound deck. Don't miss the evening wine reception with snacks, and ask about the complimentary marshmallow kits. Julian Prince Memorial Park with 4,300 acres of recreational space is a 15-minute drive from Village Inn of Blowing Rock.

The babbling creek and back deck with rocking chairs was a nice touch, according to guests who gave high marks for this hotel's peaceful location. Another positive was the proximity to town, with restaurants and a liquor store easy to reach, and a short drive to ski areas.
Rooms were nicely decorated and had the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Many guests noted the comfortable beds and clean quarters which contributed greatly to a good overall experience.
Caring staff were a highlight for many. Guests noticed that hotel personnel stayed cool and collected during busy times, and appreciated the great attitudes of staff when concerns had to be addressed.
Depending which room you end up in, some rooms might leave you wanting extra space. And while the pet-friendly policy was appreciated, guests with large dogs thought that it was difficult to navigate their luggage with the shortage of space. Ask for a bigger room if you are bringing a lot with you.
The complimentary breakfast received mixed reviews, but unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. Guests on the go seemed to like that they could grab packaged items for the road, but others wanted healthier options that were fresh. If you are hoping for a cooked, substantial meal, you might be disappointed.
A small group of guests complained of a damp feeling in rooms. This contributed to a smell of mold or mildew at times, and wasn't the best first impression for guests who had their visit start with an unexpected twist.
