Vincii Seleccion Rumaykiyya is a chalet-style five star hotel set in the Sierra Nevada National Park. It is the highest hotel in Europe with direct access to the ski slopes. All 57 rooms are provided with minibar, air conditioner, television with premium channels, in-room safe, desk, hypo-allergenic premium bedding. Most of the rooms have wood-beamed ceilings and suites feature separate sitting areas. Bathrooms have bathrobes, hair dryer, designer toiletries and bathtub or shower. Facilities of laundry, meeting rooms, dry cleaning, luggage storage and library are available. Guests can relax in the sauna, whirlpool and full-service spa. Onsite cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snowboarding can also be enjoyed by the guests. Wi-Fi is free while parking is chargeable. A breakfast buffet is complimentary. Services of a restaurant, piano bar/lounge and coffee/tea in the lobby are also available. Vincii Seleccion Rumaykiyya is only ten minutes’ walk to the Sierra Nevada Village Centre.
Guests loved the onsite skiing facilities available in the hotel. It has a nice large ski terrace and a ski lift where guests can experience the thrill of skiing. They could even rent the skiing equipments from the hotel. The facility of the local bus services that took guests from one place to another was found to be very handy, especially for guests who did not get their own cars.
The breathtaking views of the beautiful snow clad alpine mountains are cherished by all the guests. Staff is very efficient and accommodating. One of the staff members even suggested alternative meals for a guest whose child was a ‘picky eater'. Guests were welcomed with juice, cava and welcome pack for kids.
The spa and massage services offered here were loved by the guests, even though they were chargeable. Gym was well-equipped and the guests enjoyed their work out sessions. Breakfast and the food served at the restaurant were delicious with a good variety to choose from.
Few guests felt that the suites were in need of a refurbishment. They were cavernous and the sofas in there were almost on the verge of balding. When the guests took out their clothes from the closet they were torn by slivers of wood. Overall, the entire hotel looked outdated and needed a makeover.
Some guests were horrified to see dirty tiles in the bathrooms along with a tattered vanity unit. Shower doors were cracked. When some guests opened the door into a terraced area, it smelled of stale kitchen air vents.
Guests were not too happy with the high charges taken for parking. They felt that five star hotels should have complimentary parking.
