As well as being right near to Ontario Beach, W Chicago Lakeshore is a short walk from the campus of Northwestern University and Willis Tower. There are a plethora of shops and restaurants nearby in the Magnificent Mile as well.
Staff at this hotel are cheerful and will go out of their way to make sure everything about your stay is just right. If you have an issue, they will do their best to quickly fix it for you. If you want some advice on the local area, you only have to ask.
You'll get a great view of Navy Pier and of Lake Michigan from this property. It's nice to enjoy a drink and a meal and take in the surroundings.
If you want to use the internet from your guestroom, you are going to have to pay for it. In an era where many hotels offer free Wi-Fi throughout their buildings, it seems very out-of-date to charge for it. You might be able to access free Wi-Fi in the lobby, but if you want to surf the web from the comfort of your room, it will cost you.
The walls at W Chicago Lakeshore seem rather thin. If the people in the room next to you are being anything other than quiet, you will certainly experience some noise.
There is valet parking at this hotel, but it's very much on the pricey side. You might want to find an alternative place to leave your car.
