Motel Howard Johnson by Wyndham Las Vegas near the Strip (Las Vegas, USA)

Rooms are nice and spacious. They're clean too and benefit from air conditioning. Many of the rooms are recently re-vamped with comfortable beds. There's free WiFi and easy to operate TV. It's a motel really, not a hotel. However, it's close to ‘The Strip' … but much cheaper!

The Strip is within easy walking distance. A great advantage for any hotel in this area! MGM is opposite and New York New York is just a 5 minute walk! It's close to the airport too.

The hotel pool is small but clean and inviting. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels readily available. Parking is easy and there's even a sand-box for ‘man's best friend'. The lack of breakfast might be seen as a disadvantage but, with Coco's in the immediate area, any disappointment soon evaporates. Staff members are nice and always pleasant and helpful.

They don't seem to clean the rooms on a daily basis, just change the towels! The result is an accumulation of dirt on the floors in particular. This is also a problem on arrival with floors not being cleaned following the departure of the previous guests. ‘New' bed sheets have old stains.

On the front desk, there's no happy smiley atmosphere. Everyone is morose and reacts to queries grudgingly. The front desk is the showcase for the hotel and gives that essential first impression. Here, it's not a good one.

There is noise originating from night time arrivals to and from the airport which is nearby; something of a double edged sword! Wi-Fi is very unreliable and the key system is frustratingly inadequate, resulting in annoying trips to the front desk.
