Wi-Fi and parking are both complimentary at this unassuming, tree-fringed hotel. Unfussy guest rooms with simple furnishings and plain decor provide desks, flat-screen TVs and hairdryers. Some rooms have tea/coffee-making facilities, safes and/or seating areas. Guests can relax in an airy, conservatory-style lounge with a tiled floor. Other amenities include a leafy garden, a public Internet terminal and a 24-hour reception. A continental breakfast buffet (at a fee) is served in a functional dining area each day between 6.30-10.30am. There’s also a modest bar adjacent to the reception desk. The Novum Hotel Silence Garden Köln is a 25-minute tram ride from Cologne Central Station and the city’s famed Gothic cathedral. Cologne-Bonn Airport is just over five miles away.

The vast majority of guests who've stayed here have been won over by the hotel's relaxed suburban setting. Clearly, the bustle-free roads and leafy streets of this small town setting provide a welcome contrast to the fervent bustle and metropolitan buzz of Cologne city centre.
It has been noted that the interiors of this hotel always seem to look immaculately clean. Needless to say, most travellers were very appreciative of this.
Many visitors have been surprised (in a pleasant way) by the size of the guest rooms here. Clearly this is one business hotel where, in square-footage terms at least, you actually get plenty of bang-for-your-buck!
A significant number of weary guests have drawn attention to the rather disappointing levels of comfort afforded by the beds here. Thin pillows and backache-inducing mattresses were deemed a less-than-impressive combination.
A great many visitors have concluded that the distance (six miles) between the hotel and the city centre is excessive. Most travellers agreed that a ten-minute walk to the tram stop followed by a 25-minute journey is just too much to be truly convenient.
Precious few travellers have had good things to say about this hotel chain's policy of not having any effective air-conditioning units installed in its accommodations. Evidently, things can get uncomfortably warm and muggy in this property at times.
