Most guests give the reception team high marks for their friendly, helpful service, often commenting on their smiling faces and ability to "go the extra mile" with small gifts for guests celebrating a special occasion. Any issues are generally resolved cheerfully and efficiently.

The Super Breakfast Buffet generally lives up to its name, with most guests praising the impressive variety of hot and cold options. Most guests have high praise for the food at both restaurants, and they are also quick to note the lovely atmosphere and spectacular view from the Grillid Restaurant. The wait staff also receive high marks for their friendly, attentive service.

The National Museum of Iceland is just across the street from the hotel and, in warmer months, the pleasant walk to the city centre takes about 10-15 minutes. Guests not interested in walking can take a bus or taxi or arrange for a tour at the Icelandic Travel Assistance (ITA) desk in the hotel lobby. Guests generally find the ITA team to be knowledgeable and friendly, and the tour operators to be well organized. Guests often refer to the Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon tours as "must-do" destinations.

Though most guests find their rooms to be clean and comfortable, several were disappointed in the size of the rooms or suites, and many describe the furnishings as worn or dated.

A few guests found that the blackout curtains did not keep the 'night light' out well enough for a restful sleep.

A few guests found the complimentary Wi-Fi too slow or unreliable for their purposes. A few others were troubled by plumbing, electrical, or other maintenance concerns during their stay.
