The 2-star Fantasy lodge is an eco friendly resort in Samboan, a special place for those looking for a different experience. However simple, the lodge provides the necessary comforts of home. An oversize bed, bamboo dresser, a quaint ceiling fan and a spacious bathroom tastefully done up in colors mirroring the ocean. The best part of the room is the presence of the wooden old fashioned sliding window overlaid in the capiz shells that opened up to a gorgeous view of the resort pool and the wide expanse of the sea the scene will captivate you and will stun you to silence. To reach the beach one has to go down a number of steps fashioned out of the area’s natural rock. The descent is well worth it. For upon reaching the bottom step, you will discover paradise lost. The crystal clear waters are awash with white sands, shiny pebbles and craggy, black boulders. The entire cove is outlined in a lush, natural collection of greenery untouched by human hands. There is not a single soul in sight. So isolated is this part of the island that you will half-expected a sea siren blissfully sunning herself atop one of the huge rocks with her skin and hair glistening from the sea water. However, if you were born with the regular pair of legs rather than a huge tail, then snorkeling is the best way to go to check out the fantastic coral formation just a few feet from where the water caresses the shore. The resort houses a good selection of mask and snorkels and fins for such an activity. But on a tranquil day. You may decide to just settle yourself in a shady part of the beach, completely absorbed in the exquisite natural beauty around you and left the corals to the fish. One pleasantly surprising fact about Fantasy is that the resort does not have the usual food. Instead, the resort’s head chef whips up meal after meal of delicious, home-cooked fair that satisfies not only the growling stomach, but the also the finicky palate. There is so much to see and do in and around the fantasy. The lodge offers guided tours to nearby Sumilon Island, Kawasan Falls, Dolphin-watching in the Tanon strait , kayaking, biking the Cebu hills, snorkeling in our breath taking marine sanctuaries and swimming with the whalesharks. So many places to go, so little time! The rooms are far from those you find in a city's air conditioned hotels (no air-conditioning or tv, Fantasy is earth friendly), and here the 4 well-ventilated rooms only have fans; however the feeling of exclusivity and privacy appears definitely more authentic than in any conventional hotel.
