This hotel is ideally located to be near all the top spots of London. Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, and Paddington Station are all nearby. It's easy to get to other metro stations and you'll have your pick of restaurants and pubs.

The room choices can fit any need and you'll get a bed with bath for most of the rates, all of which are affordable. The rooms have TVs and kettles and there's free Wi-Fi. If you only need the basics for short stays, this is a good bet. Some room rates do come with continental breakfasts.

The reception staff is friendly and pleasant. They can be helpful with recommendations for the area and give a warm welcome.

The hotel is old and rundown. The carpet is thin and the entire place could do with upgrades and a fresh coat of paint. The water faucets are mostly all hot or all cold, without much room in between. There is no lift and the stairs are very narrow and dark.

The hotel has problems with plumbing and housekeeping doesn't show up every day. The Wi-Fi signal and TV channels can't be relied upon. There are other fixtures and features in the room that often break or are already broken and you'll spend more time phoning maintenance than relaxing.

The online pictures don't quite do justice to what you'll be receiving. Many rooms are small and dark, unlike the bright and airy pictures online. Many members of staff don't speak English and won't address any concerns.
