Sintra Boutique Hotel (Sintra, Portugal)

Sintra Boutique Hotel is a great place to base yourself. It's right in the centre of historic Sintra, meaning you can check out a number of attractions with ease. It's directly next to the Sintra National Palace and there are also parks, shops, restaurants and walks nearby. The bus goes past Pena Palace and Moorish Castle and, if you want to head further afield, then you can walk to the station in ten minutes, from which you can catch a train to Lisbon and elsewhere.

The staff at this hotel are really welcoming and very helpful indeed. They speak excellent English and can give you some useful local knowledge, as well as helping organise tours and nature walks.

Guestrooms are nicely quiet with comfortable beds and pillows. After a decent night's sleep, you can wake up to a fantastic breakfast, with lots of items from which to choose, all of which are of good quality.

It can be difficult to find somewhere to leave your car. There are only a few spaces out the front of the hotel and if you don't manage to get one of those, then you might have to spend quite a while searching the narrow streets for a spot. Ask staff for help and advice if you are having trouble.

Some previous guests at Sintra Boutique Hotel commented that their rooms felt rather small and a little cramped, with similarly small bathrooms.

You're GPS might end up taking you to the wrong place, so be sure to have printed directions with you when making your way to the hotel for the first time.
