Sunrise Beach Hotel is a seaside resort which features an array of activities and entertainment to suit all ages. Visitors here can take advantage of the four on-site swimming pools or the range of children's programmes available.
From the Inland View Room to the Royal Suite, all accommodations feature ample natural lighting, thanks to the glass doors leading out onto their private balconies. Every room provides an en-suite bathroom with rain shower, while suites add luxurious lounging areas.
Guests of Sunrise Beach Hotel benefit from both indoor and outdoor activities and amenities. From scuba diving lessons to The Aquarius Health Club's range of services, on-site facilities abound at this beach resort.
Those choosing the half-board option can dine at the on-site buffet or six speciality restaurants. Fishbone Seafood Restaurant offers al-fresco dining, as does Levanda Restaurant's relaxed breakfasts and Mediterranean meals.
The sun loungers and sand of Fig Tree Bay are only a 600-metre walk from the property.
You could spend the entire holiday in the hotel itself; there are so many facilities and dining choices. Kids, also, have a whale of a time.PS: If, by any chance, there isn't enough going on here, there are more bars and entertainment … just across the road.
Catering for the masses.
As a rule of thumb, it seems that the larger the hotel, the worse the food gets. This is a large hotel … but the food is imaginative and well served. There are three Sunrise hotels in the area and you can choose where to eat, in advance, using the computerised system. It's difficult to criticise the food adversely - or any of the catering, cleaning and admin staff. They are all friendly and efficient.
If you go bed and breakfast here, there is then the opportunity to sample some of the excellent local restaurants. There are others, but the Nicholas Tavern is one that you'll want to return to.
Areas for concern.
The communal areas are dated and uninviting. There is significant bar noise at night, resulting in little, if any, sleep. There's mould in the bathroom, dirty tiles and an extractor that doesn't work.
The fact that you are allocated a sunbed (!) must be a huge disappointment for visitors from you know where… no more early morning towel reservations! It makes a lot of sense but it also strikes a discordant note and detracts from the ‘relaxation' theme of the holiday.
Clean sweep required.
Room cleaning is inconsistent and when it happens, it can be at any time during the day. Whilst on the topic of cleaning, the pool area could be kept in better order… a bit of a ‘dive', sometimes.
