Of course, it's a posh hotel and you expect the best; however, the hotel really has a unique feel and is as high-class as ever. The décor is reminiscent of old Hollywood mixed with modern finishes. It's clear that the hotel is an LA institution.
The hotel staff are friendly and intuitive. They are there even before you've made your need apparent! Even the restaurant servers in the hotel have a knowledge of the foods and wines, which is what you expect from a first-class establishment. The poolside service is exceptional as well from setting up facilities to insuring your comfort.
The hotel location is idea and is great for walking around Beverly Hills. It's quiet, safe, and you feel good just being in the vicinity.
The food is rather bland and nothing exceptional for such a quality hotel. Some foods taste like they came from a frozen package. Nothing nutritious. Of course, it's a matter of taste. Paying such expensive prices for a plate of food and never mind the price of the coffee, you expect better.
Though the hotel is posh, elegant, and first-class, it's a bit stuffy too. Prude is written all over it. Not in an "in your face" way, but for some reason you think about all the people who don't have and suffering, and you can feel a bit guilty. The hotel is untouchable in a way.
The hotel has gone through a change of ownership, which has caused a bit of a stir amongst those who loved to frequent the hotel. To some people, the hotel feel has changed and publicity due to the change means the hotel will never be the same again in the eyes of many.
