There are plenty of interesting excursions to go on and the town's restaurants and shops are nearby. The town centre shuttle is free, very useful and takes about seven minutes. On-site, the breakfast is OK but other meals may encourage you to expand your horizons and try restaurants that are further afield.

Accommodation is large, comfortable and spacious - and the private pool is a real luxury. *The communal pool is good too.

The outer walls are beginning to show signs of wear and tear … and the public toilets aren't always as clean as you would like to find them. The place is much older than it looks in the publicity images and Wi-Fi only works in the lobby. As you approach the property, the pot-holes in the road are very much on the dangerous side.

There's so much space here that you feel detached from any community spirit. You can actually feel quite lonely after a while. There's even a buggy at reception to take you to your room - so, that's how much space there is! The fact that many of the lovely staff don't speak English doesn't help that feeling of mild desolation.

If you're a bit squeamish, the sight of a lizard on the wall of your accommodation may tip you over the edge. Not to worry, though, staff are soon here to ‘shoo' them away without harming them.
