Not only are guestrooms at Waves of Newport Motel really spacious and with a decent level of cleanliness, but many of them also offer excellent views of the ocean. It's a lovely sight to wake up to in the morning. Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Oregon's tallest lighthouse, can be seen from the property as well.
The hotel is located within very easy walking distance of Nye Beach, meaning you can be there with just a few minutes walk. There are also restaurants and shops in the vicinity, and plenty of interesting attractions nearby as well.
If you are looking to spend some time relaxing at the hotel, then the swimming pool and spa will likely suit your needs. They are a great place to hang out and are family-friendly as well.
Waves of Newport Motel feels a little tired in places. The carpets are seriously worn, as is a lot of the furniture. An update would do the world of good in making everything feel much fresher.
Due to the lack of air conditioning in guestrooms, things can get very toasty. Even if you have the window open and the fan on, it's still quite stuffy, especially in the summer months. You might struggle to get to sleep during the warmer evenings. On top of this, the beds are rather firm. if you're preference is for something softer, you might be uncomfortable.
If the people in the room above you are walking around, you will probably hear it as the sound insulation doesn't seem to be very good. This can get annoying pretty quickly, especially late at night.
