Tropical Island Apartahotel is a great-value base to explore Santa Domingo. Located in the quiet suburb of Coral del Surs, the complex is 25 minutes from some of the Dominican Republic's finest beaches. The 34 air-conditioned studios and one or two-bedroom self-catering apartments are beautifully furnished and decorated. Each has at least one private bathroom and free Wi-Fi. The fully-equipped kitchenette includes a large refrigerator and microwave. Tropical Island Aparthotel offers free parking and a 24-hour front desk, which can organize airport transfers. Breakfast is available for a supplement and there is a small store to stock up on provisions. There are also many shops and restaurants close by. The hotel is just seven kilometers from the center of Santa Domingo. Guests can discover the Colonial Zone - a UNESCO World Heritage site - and the Calle de Las Damas – the first street in the new world.
