Many guests had good things to say about the pool area. After a long day spent touring the park attractions, many visitors were happy to go for a swim or lounge outdoors. Children especially loved the chance to splash and play.
Positive reviews make frequent mention of the hotel's proximity to the downtown region and all of the town's best restaurants. People could easily access a number of different eateries without driving. Calistoga's shops also provided some guests with hours of diversion, in addition to precious mementos.
The inn features unique rustic decoration that earned approval from many of its guests. From the lounge area complete with a fireplace, to the interior of all the rooms, the inn earned top marks for its esthetic. Many travelers felt that this added to their overall trip.
Many guests felt that the rooms were simply not worth the money. Of course, the location adds quite a bit of value, but this added value did not justify the price for many travelers. They were disappointed that their cash did not take them farther.
Many negative reviews mentioned the hotel's sanitary condition as a blight upon the trip. From unclean bathroom floors, to mold spots on walls, guests had uncomfortable discoveries awaiting them upon arrival.
The hotel sits right next to the highway, which produces a good amount of noise. As a result, many disappointed guests were unable to get a good night's rest. Some thought that the hotel should do a better job of soundproofing its walls against the road noise.
